DAY 19: WALKING WASHINGTON We woke to clear blue skies today, so we slipped on the thermals and walking boots and hit the sights of DC. Thermals were a pre-requisite cause it was freezing! DAY 18: WASHINGTON DC! Left Charleston on a morning flight and arrived in the nation's capital by lunchtime. We're staying at the Hotel Monaco, an historic post office building built in 1839 (opened by Abe himself apparently) and only converted to a hotel in the last decade. DAY 17: CHARLESTON - JUST POINT AND CLICK Woke to grey skies and chilly conditions here in Charleston this morning, but overcast conditions still can't distract from the beauty of this place. DAY 16: ON THE ROAD AGAIN - HELLO CHARLESTON! We reluctantly checked out of the Andaz Savannah this morning to continue our journey up the East Coast. About an hour into the ride we decided to stop at the portside city of Beaufort for lunch - the ribs and buffalo wings went down a treat!
