Dragging ourselves away from Pai and B, myself and Adam made our way back to Bangkok so he could catch a flight back to Australia and I could continue further south and see at least one island.
3 hours back to Chiang Mai, bearable. Just about.
Here we waited an hour for the overnight bus. Two of the girls we started talking to had told us how they had been informed this was a VIP bus, which could mean anything in Thailand as became very apparent when we got on the bus.
Uncomfortable seats with tears in the head rest and air conditioning... Which didn't work. Despite Adam almost pulling it down and then insisting he had done something to make it better. We manned up and plugging headphones into Adam's laptop we settled down to Seinfeld and attempted to fall asleep. My sleep was interrupted by the sound of his laptop running low on battery and that was it pretty much for the rest of the journey.
Getting into Bangkok we sorted Adam out with a room for the night, collected the rest of my luggage from ETZ and when Khao San started to open up we set about completing our tasks.
A bus and ferry ticket to koh Samui, Adam's purchases of 10 pairs of underwear, 15 pairs of sunglasses and a variety of presents later we were done. It was 11.30, my bus wasn't until 6pm and according to Adam, it was time to 'get our Chang on'.
And who was I to argue...
It started with a small one from 7 eleven and progressed very rapidly from there. Hugging him goodbye, I caught my bus very drunk and slept beautifully the whole way.
