Hey everyone, a quick update on my recent adventures.I'm in singapore at this moment in time, after a rather impulsive decision i made last week while on holiday with ian in the whitsundays. We had an amazing time by the way, staying at one of the worlds leading resorts, on the tropical Hayman island.I've given up Nz but i'm sure i'll fit it in next year.I decided to go home two months early because i need a break and a secure base for a while. I need to rest my emotions until ive made up my mind, when and were my next journey will begin.Singapore is a vibrant place full of wonder and multi-culture. I did an 8hour tour today cycling around with a group from my hostel. The guide was very informative and we learned many interesing facts on the history and future projects to come.It was hard to concentrate though in the extreme heat. Lots of things to entertain and see here with so little time.We passed festivals, steet parades live music etc.A rather strange rubber duck race, from one end of the river to the other which was hilarious! The locals are extremely active and love to be outdoors, either fishing,roller-blading,cycling. dragon boat racing or having a family feast in the park.I love the social network and relaxed friendly atmosphere.I'm here three days in total and will be home on the 12th on wednesday. All bloody day at heathrow airport from 5am and my flight to manchester is not while half three ahhhhh!!!! The only good thing about that is i get to see my cousin lucy.I'll be a zombie from lack of sleep and activity.Well, i guess this could be my last EVER update so thankyou all whom have followed my incredible journey its been a life changeing experience for me, stirring up my hunger for travel, driving me to keep moving onwards and upwards until i've conquered the world or until i'm satisfied! A LITTLE AMBITIOUS maybe!!! Goodbyexxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hey Brooke!
Haha, i knew you would soon get into the travelling again once you started! This world is such a big place, i'm meeting people that have been travelling constantly upto 5 years! Im loving NZ (It is a bit cold though) It has some striking simularities to England which is anoying at times. I have just been learning to snow board in Queens Town. You will love it here, so much to do, however it does get expensive if you are doing all the mad activities! It's great to read what you are doing again coz we shall be doing that in a month or so, get back to the sun! ha. When do you leave NZ and where do you go after?
Speak soon,
Jonathan x

Hi all Thanks for your updates! That party sounded like my kind of party. I still love dressing up, halloween's my favorite yearly event. Hoping they celebrate it in new zealand. Yeah, thats a great idea! I'd love to have my party at your pub. We will have to get our heads together and think of some ideas. When i left Roma I spent two days on a bus, yes, two days! Arrived at Airlie beach and spent one night there before my two night sailing trip. We stayed on a tropical island resort full of coconut trees! While on the island i split from our booze loving group, and found sanction around the pool, at the opposite end of the island!.I couldn't possibly keep up with the booze cruise theme, just to feel ill the next day.In such beautiful surroundings it seemed pointless! We sailed to a cool snorkeling spot where we all jumped overbored, hoping we wouldnt cross the path of a deadly stinger or shark! We did have stinger suits on, which wouldnt have made much difference to a shark though, maybe held your insides in after it bit you in half! I held a piece of bread in my hand, and i couldn't see in front of my mask for all the fish! All colours of the rainbow, shapes and sizes.Even the seabed was impressive with all the coral and sea plants, it was like a magical under water world that i didn't want to leave! We saw giant turtles too. After my trip to south molle island, i headed an hour north, up to a country coastal town called Bowen, known for it's fruit farming.Ive been here a week now pruning tomatoe plants! What a joke, its the lamest work ive ever done! nobody lifts a finger, and people sleep amongst the vines. It's quite funny to see, as we all shuffle on our bums down the rows.I'm only staying one more week, cos i can't stand the sheer boredom of it.Ian's flying up to see me for a week, and we are staying on one of the tropical islands for a mini holiday, where we plan to do our scuba diving certificate.Ian is going to keep meeting me places every three weeks until i leave to go home.Thinking about putting the study on hold and travelling again.I'll see how i feel once i'm home.Speak soon love mexxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Brooke Of Travelling! Yipeeee!
Hey People, This is going to be my last up-date for a while, as im leaving Roma tomorrow, & it will not be as easy, as just picking up the laptop in the comfort of a house.Ian's not too impressed with my impulsive decisions, cos im leaving him before the weekend & he will have to find his own form of entertainment! It seems selfish ,but i have to think about myself now, & i doubt i'll ever come back this way on, once i head up north. Its going to take me two days travel on a coach, so its not worth back tracking all that way, plus it's not cheap either. My voluntary work at the vets lasted two days..whoops! I enjoyed the experience & watched lots of operations & procedures. On my first day an old chichuahua had a cardiac arrest & died on us, which was very unusual, apparently! Got up close & personal to a Wedge-tailed eagle that had been hit by a truck. It had to be euthanised.Lots of death to deal with for a first day! At the end of the day, i couldnt assist, or even help clean up because of insurance reasons, & felt totally useless, also the boredom. After all, you can only observe & hold.Remember, i'm still getting over my three month ordeal from being trapped at Glentulloch & i cant feel settled here any longer.Even the delivery of Ian's new treadmill today, cant tempt me to stay the weekend.I'm going to Airlie beach to do my two day sailing trip of the whitsunday islands. Its along the great barrier reef & looks stunning! The migrating Humpbacks are passing through at this time of the year, so you never know, i could be in for a real treat.I haven't a clue what i'm doing after thats over , but ill be heading up towards cairns & probably stopping off somewhere interesting along the way.The climate changes the further you go, to more tropical & humid.I'll be entering crocodile & jellyfish zones ,Where most of australias feared species live.Speak to you all Asap! love mexxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Brooke To Pat!
Hi pat, Haha! I cant believe carol, well she was always very image concious & loved to look hip-hop! She needs a rod inserting into her spine next haa...whoops couldnt help it! Im coming home on the 7th of november & want to leave just after my birthday, cos i was thinking of having a leaving party & celebrating my birthday at the same time.Id come to germany with you to do some xmas shopping, if you were going for no longer then a week, but id have to see how my funds stretch out in Nz.Ideally,i need to work whilst im there if i can.Good luck with fiding a suitable designer. Doing up properties is such hard work! speak soon love brookexxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Pat
hi brooke god cant believe we wore those fur coats ha ha bet we looked right idiots, but at least we were warm. last few times we ve been its been warm not even needed a coat . and that brown water was something else. i love germany, you know carol(hump back) well she had her boobs done then her eyes now she's had a face lift and a nose job she gets more like me everyday lol.i wont be going again now , not to work anyway but have decided to go on a break shopping to the xmas markets instead and just enjoy it without working.
are you coming home in november brooke. and when do you go back.
you seem to be in a lot of isolated area's do you not go to busy places and cities where there's some life i would be tearing my hair out if i couldn't go around all the shops you know what i'm like . well brooke the pubs not open yet got no floor in the designers came last week to see what i wanted he was an oldish man and had no idea whatsoever i got really mad and in the end the insurance fella told him we'd get someone else it was so funny, he wanted us to have terracotta now who has that colour i ask you.
that sounded scary with the kangaroo you were lucky an animal that size could have caused you some real damage if it had hit the car.
anyway sweetheart i'm off to watch emmerdale so you take care love patxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Brooke
Hi all, Thankyou for your msgs aunty pat. Yeah, i always reminise about germany. Its strange how places, even more than people leave a big impression on you.I think its because you leave a part of yourself behind, and how you once were.I would be sooo different now, but i still wouldnt change anything.I laugh out loud when i think of our fur coat trend, and fun times in the shower block, fighting for the bath tub, and it's brown water..haha! My favorite memories are of us shopping around the decoritive xmas markets, with such an amazing festive atmosphere.I didnt know Amy was even pregnant! Well, when i get back they will be little melissa's baby only a month old.The best of luck to her being a parent at sixteen.Anyway there as been another turn of events since my last update. Ian participated in a rescue mission on tuesday night! He actually saved me, from losing my marbles..haha! I had two weeks to go at Glentulloch until my three months was complete, and i was then eligable for my second work visa - not the case! I was slowly cracking up out there, isolated & under stimulated, i felt like i was on a prison camp towards the end. I broke down, and confessed all to keith, whom was understanding about my impulsive outburst, and even swindled my wage slips for the next fortnight. Ian come to pick me up that night..it felt like we were on the run driving back to Roma all anxious to leave, then to top it off a giant roo jumped out in front of the car...both screemed...phew, we missed it, too many unpremeditated, incidents in one day for my liking! Im just as bord here in Roma, so maybe ill head off up north in a few weeks, up to cairns.from cairns ill fly to Nz on the 30th of september.Ive also decided im going to stick to doing the veterinary nursing certificate Iv, reasons being that the uni degree wouldnt have delved into the animal aspect of things until the second year, and the hard core applied science studies, wouldnt have been able to hold my attention.Having to break down processes, you need to be either really interested in the subject, or at least have a mathamatical brain. I'd rather do vet nurse studies while working in a vet clinic. Plus there is a big difference in the cost. Speak soon love mexxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Pat
