so we wer meant to wake up at approx 2am but because of the faffers we were actually up at around 1am! we were so tired, aching arms and legs and i was so cold outside. We had a small breakfast and headed for the summit, As we reached further to the top we had to pull ourself up from small steep ledges using some rope, it seemed very dangerous as the fall was very high and steep. the ropes were also wet from the rain making our gloves wet. When we reached the summit you could feel the ice could wind on your face. We were told not to lean on a fence as the sheer drop meant death. We tok a few photos with numb hands and headed down the mountain, we had to climb all the way down the mountain in just one day and we were exhausted. Thye climb took around 13.5 hours, it was raining again and our legs were in agony. Katie reached ground level before Bronya. [katie] - when i reached the bottom with some of the other group members, we went for lunch then headed for the hot springs while the others finished climbing down the mountain. Although these were called the poring hot springs, they may aswel had been called the cold springs, because the hot ones were shut and the pool open was ice cold it was ridiculous! however it was fun i suppose jumping into a swimming pool losing your breath because it was so cold! once you got used to it it was refreshing because i had been bathing in my own sweat climbing that mountain! we also went to look at a flower, which cost 30ringits for the whole of ten minutes we seen it! however it was cool as it only grows in borneo and i probably wont have the chance to ever see it again. We then went back to the hotel to meet up with the other guys and have tea and go to bed to get ready for the next day....and omg there was a lizzard in our room! I was freaking out for ages because at home i cant even handle a small spider being in my room!!
after fially getting to sleep at around 1am we had a 6.30am start for the next day... the Kinabatangang river.
