Only full day in Amsterdam, here I come. Today started off slow, leaving at 11 to see about some flea markets. I rode the tram for the first time, and thought wouldn't it be nice to have super efficient and expansive public transportation like this throughout the states? Not to mention the thousands of bikes everywhere. The flea markets are more touristy, but there were a few cool tents with binders of old postcards that I poured over for a while. On our way to eat lunch at the Pancake Bakery we passed the Anne Frank House that had a huge line going into it. There was also a line into the Pancake Bakery, but the wait was more than worth it. I got a bacon and cheese pancake which was delicious, and tried some of Don's which was strawberries with ice cream and whip and Grace's, which was cherries with ice cream and cream. Delicious. We visited an art based bookstore and a camera shop. When I got back I napped before we went to a Spanish restaurant for dinner. I got prawn and a sangria, and also tried Al's seafood paella, and Don's fried sardines. The food was very good, but at this point Grace and Ashley had been sick for a day or so, and I needed to pack, so our evening came to end. I went up to Alison, Heidi, and my room to pack, clean up, and work on some designs before trying to sleep. Sleeping in the Red Light District is difficult, because not only where there sirens, horns, and people screaming outside, but Alison was a snoring machine. It's ok though, because I put my earbuds in, and the rest was unconsciousness:)
