82o & Sunny
Day 60
Our RV Park is very nice. The park is rustic! We have no phone, sewer, cable, or internet. We do have water, and it is not rusty…Yahoo!
This morning we were awakened by Abbie's "it's time to get up" scratching at 4:30am.I looked at the clock and was sure it was wrong. The clock was correct. We are far enough north that it starts getting light around 4:00am.I am not ready to get up at 4:00am.No wonder the crops look so healthy, they get nearly 18 hours of light each day.
Hugh was ready to fish.He eagerly trotted down to his rented boat, leaving Abbie and I to RV tidying. The problem was the fish were not so eager.Apparently the frequent storms lately have affected the fishing. Hugh says it's him!Whenever he fishes, the fish go on vacation - elsewhere.Abbie and I joined him later in the day.It was Abby's first boat ride.Abbie does not like the boat. She's a Florida dog.She is suspect of any large body of water that's not salty. She kept looking for alligators. She never did get used to being in the rocky boat surrounded by water.
Hugh is not bothered by no access to TV, phone or Internet service, but I feel like I'm in a communications black hole.Apparently you can pick up a wifi signal from across the lake if the conditions are just right.I try 3 times a day, so far nothing!
Tomorrow we have laundry to do and food shopping for the next leg of our trip.I was given directions to the laundry, and cheerily told to remember it only takes two "Loonies".What is a loonie?I'm afraid to ask.I'll worry about that tomorrow. For now we are fished, fed, and sitting outside as evening approaches. We are watching the lovely Lake of The Prairies. It was beautiful!
