Dawson Creek to Devon, Alberta - 360 miles
65 & Overcast
Day 89
After an extra day of S&C (shopping and cleaning) in Dawson Creek we left early to travel to Devon, a suburb of Edmonton. That haze in the air has turned into a thick haze of smoke. There is a forest fire somewhere in British Columbia and the strong winds are bringing the smoke south. The smoke will be with us all 7 hours of our travel today. The visibility is about a mile. The roads are mostly four lane highways today and a joy. The mountains have given way to prairies once more. The Blue Beast is sighing with relief for a while.
The little town of Devon, our destination today, is on the North Saskatchewan River. Devon is a quaint little town with flowers everywhere. What a pretty place to call home. The Lions Club owns and operates the RV Park we are staying at tonight. It is on the North Saskatchewan River. It is the nicest RV Park we have stayed at on our trip. The lots have nice grass, and flowers are everywhere. The park has paved roads, ball fields, gazebos, and a chalet with meeting rooms. The river is very fast here, with high bluffs on the opposite side, and a steep bank on our side. There is a nice walking path on our side of the river that Abbie has been busy exploring.
As the day wound down, we sat, sipped a little hooch, and watched the young people play in the park. It was beautiful!
