Touchdown........Perth, Australia. A gruelling 27 hours but we make it! We have always enjoyed seeing different places and doing different things but this is something else. Other side of the world, the old saying "thrown in at the deep end" comes to mind.
We check into hostel around 2.30am after delay getting through immingration, nightworker is friendly and our room is clean and tidy. Result! We rise at 1pm which is now Friday 21st September to wind and rain. Defo brought the weather with us ha. We catch our first Perth bus into town and see what the city has to offer. Even though its raining, its Friday afternoon and the place has a buzz to it. We sort out bank accounts, check, Oz sim cards, check. We stroll more round the City and begin to get our bearings. We like the look of this place. We go back to the hostel and have a few beers before throwing in towel around 11pm, shattered! Bodyclock all over the place we rise at 1.30 and are awake til 4am. No good. This jetlag malarky is for real!
Saturday 22nd September again we go down to the City and again like what we see. This time we stroll down to the Swan River and get a view up of the city. Lovely. Clean modern crisp. Reminds me of Berlin, except warmer. Tonight we grab a crate and sink a few beers before heading to a lively place up the road called "The Queens". Bottle of wine $26 and a pint $7.50. Eureka! Apparently thats cheap round here. T-Total comes to mind then quickly goes. We meet an Irish, Scotsman and an Englishman (no its not one of them cheap gags) and their wives and partners and we drink together and chat. Nice ppl and had a good night. Thanks to them ppl.
Sunday 23rd we wake at 10 and its boiling. Just what we came to Oz for. Beach!!! Except its Spring here and were hitting the beach? Back home you would be sectioned if you were caught down Caswell Bay in March/April ha. We have a great day on beach and have fish n chips for home comfort on a Sunday. The blog pic is from today on Cottesloe Beach. This is where this one ends as were writing in hostel room waiting to go out and watch the football. Super Sunday without fail whether its 8.30pm or not. Old habits die hard!!!
Thanks for reading!!
