Good morning all, we had a lovely trip to La Digue, we were picked up at Ephelia, sad to leave Ephelia, it was amazing, taken to the airport, rode on a 20 sweater propeller driven large horse box lol, and arrived in La Digue. Then we were taken to the ferry port by a very informative driver in our private air conditioned merc. Today in La Digue, it's their equivalent of St. Paddys Day, except they do it better than the Irish, they started celebrating this at the weekend, lots of drinking and celebrations on the street :) We're meeting our rep in 15 mins who'll tell us what there is to do on the island and give us a map. We're going to get a few bikes, cycle to the town and cycle to Anse Severe, apparently an amazing beach.
So this is Thursday, we hired bikes yesterday and cycled to Anse severe, lovely, we then continued around north point and down the east coast. Bearing in mind the island is 5 miles by 3 miles, this is not difficult, the beaches and granite boulders are spectacular. We had a sea food themed buffet last night, the octopus curry was fab but then got some creole fish medley and it had more octopus in it and I kind of had enough, something about those black tentacles and those suckers that put me off...... Oh well, tonight is Italian night, I should imagine there's pizza and lasagne and garlic bread with a little tiramisu for afters :) a beer costs €6 in the hotel or €1.80 from the local shop...... A bottle of wine from
Ephelia cost minimum €100, obviously we didn't drink wine, we found some nice dry white in the local shop which cost about €9 so we'll take a few bottles to the next place with us, it's also a Constance hotel so should be equally expensive. Well that's it for tonight, arrivederchi, well that's what I'll be saying after my dinner :) xxx
