Leaving Zion early in the morning to get our escort through the tunnel, they have to stop the traffic due to the size of our vehicle and the width of the tunnel to let us through. Jan just kept her eyes shut most of the way. We are on our way to Capitol Reef, the first destination we haven't visited before. We have a campsite booked outside of the National Park, but have heard good reviews of a campsite called Fruita in the National Park, but they don't take reservations. We chance our luck, and head there first to see if we can get a pitch, and we did. $10 per night, and the best views of the park you could imagine, surrounded by orchards, and deer, we have a walk around, get our bearings, go to the visitor centre and plan our hike for the next day. Had a look for some wine for Jan, as she has withdrawal symptoms, but liquor stores are few and far between in the state of Utah. We have our BBQ and go down to the ranger talk on marmots, so now we are on a mission to see one (Bradley's mission however is to find a mountain lion, but we are hoping he doesn't!).
