Up before the sun, watched it rise over the Painted Desert....beautiful! We all had a good chuckle when Florien dropped his cereal bowl and it rolled down the hill! when he eventually got it he did a little victory dance, and then shouted in his funny german accent "i cant find my spoooooon!"
went to Oodnadatta for the day today, which is an aboriginal town which used to be the end town on the Ghan track. looked around the museum, had a guided tour around the local school, and swam all afternoon! seeing as it was another scorching day, around 53deg, we were all very glad of it!
we stopped in the middle of the desert and tried out some boomerangs, its so much fun!! dangerous when theres several airbourne at a time, but fun!
camped by a waterhole that night so the flies were pretty bad! if you havent been to the outback you have no idea how bad the flies are, they basically look for water so if youre not wearing a flynet they crawl into your mouth, nose, ears, and eyes! yuk! everyone went for a dip in the waterhole, i was a bit scared so i just sat on a log up to my waist for a bit! everyone smelt after as theres lots of cattle around so the water was a bit dirty!
had a lovely bbq for dinner, i had a chicken bone under my swag and forgot to move it so i had to get up in the middle of the night to move into a tent (we had some up in case anyone wanted to escape from the mossies) as there were hundreds of ants in my swag! ew!
