I got told an aboriginal joke when i woke this morning....how do you catch a unique rabbit?
...you neak up on it! boom boom!
We left Iga Warte fairly early and drove to Talc Alf's gallery, hes a slightly eccentric postman/artist/patriot who lives in the middle of nowhere! he gave us a short presentation on the alphabet and the meaning of letters and how that builds a name, for example, Australia can be interpreted through his alphabet as Land of the Rising Golden Sun. he had a very interesting way of looking at things, and when we translated my name we found it meant Forward Roll. yay, im a gymnastic move! not as bad as chad, (whos a bit on the short side) his name translates as Child Height Man Near Death!!!
Stopped at a small village called Marree for a bbq lunch...yummy! Went to sculpture park, its a huge area with loads of different giant sculpures done by hippies who settled there once! Went to Lake Eyre south, its pretty much dry at the moment so its all salt flats, but its still pretty cool to look at!
Went to Coward Springs, its a little wooden pool about neck deep, we just about managed to get 11 of us i there, apparently the record is 14! we saw a rat in the toilet! i should update you on some new terminology:- Clean-clean: can be used for pretty much anything. nuria says it all the time and its turned into a catchphrase! for example... "what do u think of the trip so far?"...."clean-clean!" also, if you're a bit 'groovy grape' it means youre a bit of a woos who doesnt like getting their hands dirty! its based on another rival tour company that does the outback, just not very hardcore! and what we are is "hardy bushwhackers" as the company we were with is called Headingbush!
stopped at Beresford, looked round the ruins of the old Ghan railways station and watched the sunset...beautiful!
we camped at a place called William Creek that night behind a pub, which is where we spend most of the evening! played drinking games to get to know everyone, and generally had a laugh!
