when we went out today the sea was really quite rough, got thrown about everywhere, and despite taking several seasickness tablets, my stomach got the better of me and i was rather ill. 30 seconds later i was in the water geared up, so my regulator tasted of sick all day. nice!

did our last training dive this morning, did my scary skill, taking my mask completely off my face at 12m deep then putting it on again and clearing it, i got so much water up my nose i thought i was a goner, but managed to choke through my air supply and got over it! yay! we hired an underwater camera for today, so heath was swimming around us taking photos and videos, got some great pics!!

had lunch then did all the paperwork, were now all certified open water divers!! cant believe it!! after lunch went to N.Hastings Reef, another rough ride and i was sick again, but i dove again anyway!! our first certified dive, just swam around exploring and taking pictures and doing somersaults etc lol! freddie scared my by swimming right at me wide eyed doing the hand signals for "look - shark - huge" it was only reef sharks but they were nearly 2m long, pretty cool! also had a visit from a giant sea turtle, which we swam with for a bit!! so cool!

had cheese and wine on the way back to cairns, and our whole dive group sang happy birthday to heath, our instructor, who is 30 on monday! good times!! i wasnt ill on the way back as i sat right on the front of the boat outside, which was lotsa fun!!

got back, showered and changed, then me and ed went to the Bull Bar for Heaths party. met up with chris, freddie, jason, tash, seb, frauke and claudia (dive buddies) and partied for a while before moving onto pj's. met the swedes and tom there, danced on the bar all night (coyote dancing) then called it a night.....so tired!
