got picked up 7:30 as usual, checked in at the dive centre, picked up new mask and snorkel (me and eddy invested in really good equipment) then went down to the boat! we went out on the osprey V, its 30 metres long, and is one of the fastest dive boats in cairns, with a top speed of 30 knots!!

we did two training dives in the morning, the first was just getting used to it, had a swim around, practised hand signals etc. we saw two reef sharks! they were only small, about a metre long, but really cool! also saw a stingray and lots more! The second training dive we had to do that mask clearing thing i HATE but i managed to do it with minimal choking and was ok! i thought id get scared when it came to jumping off the boat, it was calm water but cloudy so looked dark...but i wasnt scared at all!! even when we saw the sharks! its just an amazing experience, like nothing else....i cant explain it!! i felt like a fish!

did a third training dive after lunch, doing more skills and swimming. cant wait until we can just do our own thing without all the training! went to north hastings reef this afternoon, then whizzed back to cairns...i slept all the way!

went out with everyone, had a few drinks but me and eddy were in bed before midnight.
