Wednesday 9th February
This was our last night in the archipelago islands of Fiji and it was to be an emotional one. To begin with we went into Nadi town with our shlags ( please refer to Phil Mitchell of Eastenders) Cherrelle and Emily who guided us round and basically mothered us with their amaaaaaazing sensuality; their acts of generosity shall never be forgotten. As the day rushed by and the heat picked up we decided to have a game of badminton where Christian ripped off the skin from the bottom of his foot and Boob laughed profusely at his friends pure anguish. Whilst this occured Wardy looked on with a hard on. On the night we pleasured ourselves with a game of cucumber ( game we learnt of the Swedish girls; refer to previous Fijian blog) and chatted the night away with our lady friends. It was to be an emotional goodbye in the morning but this was soon turned into joy with the impending adventure of exploring New Zealand.
Thursday 10th February
After waking up at precisely 7.31 we gathered our backpacks, tucked into breakfast and got a taxi to the airport. Our taxi driver was a Fijian lookalike for Ricky Tomlinson. We flew with Air New Zealand and across the board it was a fantastic flight with great food and a great film; 127 hours was the film Christian and Ward enjoyed whilst Boob indulged himself in a bit of Shrek forever after. We arrived and after a few complications with immigration, mainly due to Christian and Boob's footwear, we were picked up by Christians Auntie Sarah and taken back to their beautiful abode just outside of the city. It was to be an emotional reunion but the blood relatives managed to hold it together whilst Ward and Boob integrated themselves into the Chew blood, initiation wasn't easy but they passed it with flying colours. After a delightful homemade Lasagne and wash, we frequented ourselves with the local social club accompanied by Kevin, it was very similar to Holly Lane social and was inhabited by more Brits than Kiwi's.
Friday 11th February
Waking up to the clear skies and unpolluted air of suburban Auckland, we hopped on the local ferry to Auckland harbour, not before a strenous jog proved the final straw to Chewy's foot, like the soldier he is, he soldiered on before Wardy piggy backed him to the pier. We arrived in Auckland with the intention of meeting Harry and doing a bit of shopping. The day was successful and we hitchhiked a lift home from a barlady we just met who dropped us off at our destination. ( This would not have happened in England). The night was to be relaxed with drinks with Chewy's family and a delicious Cream Chicken meal accompanied by homemade Garlic bread. Harry's jet lag really kicked in after a 30 hour flight and ended the night deliriously with images of giraffes and black men with spears.
Saturday 12th February
We woke up and prepared a trip to a local waterfall. However, before that we enjoyed possibly the most tastiest and succulent sausage sarnie one could ever have. Boob was particulary happy as he could finally apply brown sauce to a meal. On the way to waterfall we had an hour in a local mall where we spent some dollar on clothes and other essential items, i.e. bandages and plasters for Chewy's wound which was starting to look like something from Ridley Scott's acclaimed sci fi film 'Alien'. Moving on, the waterfall was very picturesque but apparently only the cusp of New Zealand's true beauty. On the evening, we wrestled with Chewy's young cousin Dan with Daniel managing to beat Boob, Wardy and Christian by pin, submission and knockout respectively. Harry sat their pretending to be on the laptop, clearly scared of Dan's physical prowess ( he's 8). The night was to be spent at a family friend of Christian's aunt which consisted of a bbq, more drink ( were not alcoholics Mum's and Dad's) and met some young English girls who we will exploit when we meet them again on Thursday for some travelling. We are now staying up for the Manc derby which kicks off 2.00am our time. Goodnight people and for Emily and Cherrelle, "Goodnight Shhhhhhhllllllllllaaaaaaaaaaaaagggggggggggggggggggsssssss"
