So we were up @ 3.30am to get our flight, we had already booked airport transfer with the reception so every was in place!
We headed downstairs @ 4.30am to jump in our taxi, but it wasn't there! And there was no staff on the reception…Well there was 1 person but we was asleep on the sofa and as much as we tried to wake him up he like seriously would not wake up!! This made things very awkard. After a while of just standing there and staring at him and really wanting to poke him he suddenly woke up, YAY!
This had taken 10 minutes and we were wondering why there was no taxi outside… After he had fixed himself up he phoned the taxi company and the driver had been involved in a accident whilst on his way to pick us up… Brill. Soz to the taxi driver but this was very inconvenient for us!
He ordered another one straight away for us and he came pretty quick, but we were still running 1/2 hour late for our flight. He was very sweet though and i hope he managed to get back to sleep after our rude awakening.
The drive takes about 1/2 hour which meant we got there just in time really, check in is pretty quick over here though luckily so we didn't have to wait long until we were on the plane and for once in our lives we actually both managed to sleep the journey! Which made it go super quick.
We landed just after 7, grabbed our bags and headed straight to our hostel. Luckily our room was ready for us when we arrived which was cool, We had some breakfast before we went up though. After a quick nap and taking some time to chill out we went back out a few hours later for lunch, A restaurant right next door to us is rated number1 on trip advisor so we had an absolute winner. We both had some sort of vietnamese noodles and both very tasty. We got chatting to what i presume was one of the owners Mr Lock and we ended up booking a tour with him for the next day, To take us to a few of the sites in Hue. Oh yeah i forgot to say our flight was from Ha Noi to Hue, i forgot to mention that!
So the weather in Hue in just horrible, it has rained since we got here and neither of us brought anything water proof with us we made our next mission to go and buy some very lovely fake northface rain coats.
We walked very far in the rain, i luckily had a hoodie on, James did not! So walking over the very windy bridge proved quite difficult for him.
We reached a row of shops and went in a few, nothing took our fancy. Vietnamese sizes make me feel so wonderful about myself, a small coat would probably fit a 10 year old ENGLISH child, A medium would fit a teenager or an anorexic ENGLISH girl, A large would fit a sit 6-8 and an XXL would fit about a size 10. Keep this in mind when visiting anywhere in Asia, Grown women over here look like babies.
Much to my despair i just refused to try and coats on, and feeling like a whale we carried on.
We found a whole shop dedicated to north face coats. I finally found a medium sized coat that fit me which meant i am now definitely anorexic. HAHA! Its pink ofcourse, and James decide to buy a red one, I dont thing he realised we would clash… brilliant.
So now we were fully waterproofed up we went to find a few places to have a drink and then head back to the hostel to freshen up, after getting rather damp walking without any waterproof.
In the evening we went to a restaurant next door for some food and it was awesome, by 2 beers get 1 free which is always awkward when theres 2 of you! :/
After we'd eaten and also had the best potato skins we've ever had! We moved to the sit down area to some comfy pillows and chilled out. At 7.30pm James had arranged to meet a guy who owned Hue Adventures, a biked tour from Hue to Hanoi, so he popped in to disturb out evening, Great. He was really sweet actually and we ended up booking the tour with him. James is super excited about this! Hes going to ride on his own and i am riding with a guide after my near death experience on a bike in Kanchanaburi, i thought this a wise decision.
After this dodgy dealings tour arranging had finished we went back after nearly being up for 24 hour again, to get some well deserved sleep.
