Today was our 2nd day in Hoi An- We had abit of a lie in then headed to get some lunch. We went to a place called 'Zoom Cafe' Considering James was not a fully professional motorbike driver we thought this was a fitting place to eat. It was only a small place but the manager was very friendly and the food was ok! After we were supposed to go and pick up our outfits from the tailors…but we passed on this. SHHH.
I had seen online a restaurant not too far away called 'The end of the world' i found this name interesting so we decided to give it ago! (after just having quite a large lunch) We got on the moped and set off. It took about 15-20 minutes to get in the right area, once we were in the 'right area' it was abit of a mission to find. We drove down many alleys and drove into many peoples private properties! But we couldn't find it. I made James drive down a beach… i really thought it could have been down there & so we nearly fell of the moped a few times, only to find it definitely wasn't on the beach!
Eventually as we drove back up the road a bit we saw a sign for it, yay! It was a small drive down a local village so we have many strange looks, but we finally reached the restaurant which was literally right on the sea, so its name was quite fitting! It was a great view of all the fishing boats though! We couldn't see anyone in the restaurant at first so were just going to come back in the evening but a woman came out eventually who was very friendly and offered us a seat!
We weren't that hungry so didn't really want too much but just wanted a taste of the fresh seafood!
The women didn't speak a word of English so this was quite hard to describe to her, but she kept pointing at loads of things on the menu and i always find it hard to say no!
So in the end we needed up ordering, squid stuffed with something and covered in peanuts, Prawn spring rolls and King prawns. nom nom! It was all so tasty! James was going to take this as his opportunity to finally teach me how to peel prawns (i do know, i just can never be bothered so normally make him do it ;-) ) Just as he was about to show me, the chef came running over and started to do it for us! She was very rough with the prawns and missed a lot of the shell… She then proceeded to stuff garlic into mine and James mouths! We felt very violated whilst eating our lovely king prawns, but she meant well!
Once everything was eaten we hit the road but it had started to rain so got drenched on the way back.
Once we were back and got changed James decided he wanted his hair cut and i wanted my nails done so we went to a place that could do both! It was lush inside and they soaked my feet in warm water as they were so cold from the rain. mmmm!! We didn't have anything to do in the evening so decided we would get a massage :-) We both had a body scrub and then a hot stone massage. It was amazing and i have never felt so clean in my life! They proper scrub every part of your body, i bad abit of an issue with this as she made me take ALL my underwear off so when she scrubbed my front she like proper played with my boobs! I felt slightly uncomfortable to say the least…
They gave us both paper pants though, It really covered James but considering they were see through!! :/
Once the scrub was done we had a shower then lay down (naked, they really need to rethink this whole naked thing, i don't like it!) The hot stones were awesome but they did burn me a few times because they were so hot! But never the less, very relaxing.
It was late by the time we were finished and didn't get out until 10pm! We were both starving as we'd been there since like 6.30pm So we rushed to an indian around the corner in the hope they were still open. I'm pretty sure they were about the close but we sneaked in, ordered what we needed to. smashed it all down with a beer and were on our way to bed within 1/2 hour!
