So last night was England's Bonfire night. For those of you who don't know the story (myself included) it is a celebration of the foiling of the plot by catholics to blow up parliment. Guy Fawkes who was a leader/famous participant in the plot is also another name for the celebration. So i was sitting on the couch and Xander came in and asked if i'd seen the fire outside. I was napping and hadn't seen it. A bunch of the psychotic/children of the damned type towns kids had gotten lots of for-sale signs and random burnable items and lit a bonfire in the middle of the village green. Xander assumed the parents and neighbors of said kids would simply think "awww kids will be kids, hey there's my car, yep silly kids, there goes my cat, ah that's ok, they're just being kids". Xander and Ally make fun of Haswell and its inhabitants all the time cause its in the sticks.

Xander later invited me to meet his friends who had come over for a get-together and made dinner for all of us. Surprising both the guys I live with are pretty good cooks. Later on the guys went outside in the back garden and built a bonfire using random stuff Sheridan had left behind for us to take to the dump... well don't need to now i guess. An innocent couch cushion was sacrificed at some point. Ally came in later on and commented on how there is just something about fire that appeals to men in an archaic level and preceded to make grunting noises... don't ask.

Later Ally and I watched Austin powers and xander's girlfriend Debbie came in to ask if we wanted to join them at the pub down from our house.

A little background info here: Xander and Ally make fun of this pub all the time, because it looks like only haswell's finest hang out there...

So we went in and played some form of pool, but not billiards. The few people that were there were kinda scary looking, that includes the bartender. Xander was making faces around the corner and Myself and debbie were trying not to laugh too loud.

So that concludes my first Bonfire night.
