One of the castles was closed for some unknown reason and our tour guide was cancelled for another unknown answer.  We were supposed to leave at 9:30 this morning with the tour bus. He showed up about 15 min late and then he said he had to make another pickup at 2:00 and would not be able to stay that late so we needed another driver. After another 15 min waiting fro a driver to show up he decideds to take us to the tour place to pickup another driver. After another 30 min he gets back in a drives us. Oh we also picked up 2 extra guys because they paid him. After asking for directions the whole way missing the turn, even though their was a giant sign that showed the castle, and dropping those guys off we made it. The castle was quite beaten but interesting. The scenery was magnificent. The castle was built in the 13th century for the town of Rasanov to prevent the invading armies from slaughtering the town. we then went to Bran without any problems. There are alot of merchants and everything is a little overpriced. The castle itself is well preserved but unimpressive. The castle itself ignores the dracula ties and instead preaches the merits of a queen that lived their in the 1930's. We left Vlad's castle and made it back to Brasov with no problem. After going back john and I went to the central square to get some dinner. We sat outside and did a bit of people watching. Despite the backwardness of Romania, the beauty of the town and the ladiesalong with friendliness of the people cancels that out. Brasov is such a laid back mountain town I think it would be a nice place to retire.
