Good day mates, as they say in OZ. Hope ya all well.. let me tell you about the last few days..
As I said in my last update we had bought a car, what i should have said was we had put a deposit down on in and we was going to pay the rest yesterday and then head off to Melbourne untill we hit a bit of a problem.. when we went to the bank to take the $800 each out it was just coming out with a statment saying please contact your bank(me and dave that was, Wills with HSBC and he didnt have a problem) so after running around Sydney like headless chickens trying to find a bank that could help, with no luck. So we had to head to the car lot to ask the guy if we could pay today because it was the early our of the morning back home and we wouldnt be able to call Barcalys untill around 8 o'clock OZ time. Thankfully he said that would be fine but it would have to be Monday as he didnt work weekends. So here we are for another couple of nights. With a quick call home thankfully mum came to the rescue (as usuall) and called the bank to get to the bottom of the problem. In the end it turned out that we had tryed to go over our daily limit on our cards so the bank had put a block on them thinking it was fraud..(its fine today).
So let me get on to the last couple of nights... last night was a bit of a lazy night in front of the T.V. cos we had been out the two nights before. Thursday night turned out to be an unexpected night out but one of the best of the trip. After going out Wed night (which was a bit quiet) we decided that thursday night we would just go to a pub called the gaff (if you buy a drink at the pub you get a free meal, how goods that) and have a meal and then head back to the hostel about ten-ish. Will decided that he wasnt hungry and headed off to bed, so that left me and Dave... when we arrived (the pub has a night club down stairs by the way) their was some kind of Christmas party going on down stairs for a car and home rental company with free alcohol and food.. So after downing our pint, chicken and chips, we decided that we would try and blag our way down their. With a little of that Mr Moore charm (go on you stud..) he chatted up the girl on the door and managed to get us passes down to the bar. Four pints and six free glasses of wine later it was time to hit the dance floor to get a better view of the Miss Backpacker of the year awards on stage...(oh I should tell you as i came back from the bar Dave was getting very friendly with some of the contestants. cherpser.) So it turned out to be a great night and we only spent about 5 pound each which was a bit of a result.
Hopefully we will be heading of for Melbourne on Monday, so fingers crossed i will speak to ya then guys, bye for now.
