Hola! Got your text this morning! How cool watching the sunrise at the summit of Mt. Kenya. I'm very jealous! We tried calling about 10:30 your time, but no connection. We thought since you were staying in a town there might be a possibility. We will try on Monday. I'll try to update you on the weekend...... Amy did the orientation for volunteen on Sat. . Dad & I had Food for Thought at night at the UW Wood. It was fun, great food! No African dishes, maybe you can come next year and have a table of Ugali or roast dog! Also did some cleaning up around the outside but still couldn't get all the Christmas lights off the bushes, because of the snow. The crocus, daffodils, etc. are coming up around the deck but still alot of snow in the back half of the yard and down the middle is a river. Alex and Adam had confirmation today and the Daus moved into their new house on Thursday. So Aunt Nanny Goat has been a busy little goat! Emma now has a cell phone and was texting Megan already! The girls babysat for the DiStefanos Saturday. That Chris, very funny & very smart and Alex is just so sweet. They had fun. I talked to Kelsey Heeg in church today and she said to say hi. She had just been in Boleze for couple weeks. She was home to go to Brittany Zimmermans funeral. That is so sad. It doesn't sound like they have any leads, other than a homeless man. Your class has had some terrible losses. John Hayes' dad died on Sat. Wendy starts her treatments on Monday through Thursday. So hopefully that gives her a boost and makes her stronger. Sent off a package to you, hopefully you will get that at your next visit. Let's see, if I'm forgetting anything. Oh Dad's leg seems to be doing better. He walks like he has something up his up butt, but........yah! Still has to wear his stocking! Meg has wisdom teeth out on Thursday. Track meets on Tues & Thurs. We Love you & miss you like crazy...Mom & the rest

Oh my little Bre, Bre....how I've missed reading of your daily adventures! It sounds as though you are learning quite a lot in the boondox, so that is good to know. I just finished up a hectic week of papers and exam and a quiz. It has been rough and I'm getting so ready for you to come home! Well I wish you good luck and safety. Don't contact any tropical diseases. Use all that latex you brought!! Love you and miss you, yours truly, Jenna G

Dear, Dear Breanne, It was so good and a relief to hear from you.
So you miss MaMa Mary--that's funny. But, I'm sure she misses you too. Like we do!!! Sounds like this is quite an adjustment for you, but we know you will do well in this situation also. The hospital must be very different from what you are used to , especially the University Hospitals and Marshfield Clinics. Now you've seen the best and the worst of two worlds. Weather is getting better here and the snow is gone---for now??? Lots of little red robins bobbin around. Take care and know that we love you and miss you. Nyanga and Babu

Hi Breanne.....we're happy that you were able to find internet access again. Glad to hear that you are doing well in your new location and are happy with your host family. It is still cold here in Iowa even though spring has officially arrived. Snow is even forecast in the next few days. Stay dry......& safe!
Love............Grandma & Grandpa

Hey Bre-
Hope your new location is suiting you well. We can't wait to hear all about your adventures in Meru. A belated Easter wish to you! Hopefully your day was "egg-stra" special. :-) We spent part of the weekend in Minneapolis shopping and relaxing. The kids had a day pass to Nickleodean Universe (formerly Camp Snoopy). Of course Alex was not enjoying the rides, so later in the day Uncle Dave took him to a sports bar to watch some March Madness games, while I continued to shop. Guess which sports bar? Yes, that's right...Hooters. I think it was your mom who introduced the Dau boys to that establishment! Am I right!?! :-) Alex argues that it was the best place in Mall of America to watch basketball since they have 3 big screens. It's his story and he's sticking to it!!
Sending love from all the Daus!

Hey Breanne! Spring Break is done and back to reality. I did have to start my count down though until school is over. 52 days left!! I am just as bad as the students I think. It sounds like everything is still going very well for you. I hope your new location is just as comfortable as ths previous one. Take care and enjoy the last couple months!!

Hi breanne, remember me? I'm John's wife. Doris just sent this to me so I had some time before my 1st graders come in for recess. I think what I may do...if its OK with you...is let my students ask some questions of you and the students you work with, the school, what you eat, etc. Is that OK if we kind of start up a little pen pal activity? We have 45 days left of school so I thought it would be fun. If you don't have time....just let me know. Also, we could just do it through email also....whatever works for you...if you're up for it or have the time.
Be safe! Lisa K.

Hi Breanne,
We are all looking forward to spring here. It's been a long winter. We still have some snow left on the ground but are seeing lots of robins everywhere.
Good luck with your internship in Meru. It sounds like everyday is a brand new adventure for you. I hope you will be able to do some blogging while there as we do look forward to reading about your experiences. It is great that you are able to share them with your family.
We wish you a very Happy Easter & hope you will stay safe & well until your return in May.
