Beezy, I read your updated blog.......it sounds like the simple life. I envy many aspects of life there, but not the warm milk (I like my cold cereal) or the muddy roads (you know how anal I can be!) And you know I'd starve with only fruit. You may need to dig out the old pen and paper to get going on those term papers. It's good to hear you talk of returning, but make the most of your remaining time there! Will give you a call soon.Love ya ........Dad

Hey Breanne! your pictures look amazing! I can't wait to (hopefully) get a chance to see you this summer when I'm in Rochester and get a chance to hear all about your trip! Katherine

Hey Breanne!! We received an awesome postcard from you the other day and the kids and I loved reading all about your recent adventures! Mason and Sierra especially loved hearing that you had to run REALLY fast from the bull running down the street. Both of their eyes were quite wide as they read that part. haha They will be turning 7 on Thursday and have high hopes of a new basketball hoop and balance beem for my little "Nadia". We are loving the sun...FINALLY and look forward to the last weeks of school. What are your plans for swim lessons this summer? Are you teaching again? Let the fishies know if they will have their favorite instructor again this summer. Take care Breanne!! We are always thinking of you...talk again soon.

From reading your blog and looking at the pictures you have posted, you are having a great semester in Africa. I had to laugh today when talking to Paulie Wog (your name for him not mine) about summer and he really hopes you come back.
You will have to teach Chris some of the African words you have learned in your travels (only the clean ones please :)) he remembers everything.
Enjoy the rest of your semester and have a safe trip home.

Breanne,
Thanks for sharing the picture on top of Mt Kenya. That had to be an awesome sight. I'm sure it will be one of your top unforgettable experiences in Kenya. The Sioux City Journal had an article today about the Kenyan president naming opposition leader Raila Odinga as prime minister. Hope that will ease the tensions there.
We are finally getting warmer weather here. It's been a long time a comin'. 60 degrees is sounding pretty darn good.
I hope all is going well with your internship. Take care.

Beez Love your mountain top picture! It looks awesome, you look awesome, but a little chilly.....just like Wisconsin. How fun, just glad you made it down safe and sound. I just love seeing your smiling face. Good chatting this morning. A bunch of kids stopped by tonight to check on Meggie. Amy and Jenna Weigel are at El Mezcal. Dad and I ate at Applebees. The Children's Festival was fun, Chris made a wagon. They had alot of fun stuff for the kids to do. Going to watch a movie now. Love you................madre

i'm so proud of my b!

Hey Beez!
Well, I've finally come up for air. After moving in a week ago, I'm feeling a little more settled. It's great to have that big move behind us and be able to enjoy the new house. We have plenty of room now for guests, so just remember that when you return from your African adventure!
Sounds like your Mt. Kenya experience was thrilling. I'm not sure if I could handle the lack of oxygen, added with the cold temps. That sounds scary! I'm sure I would have been a "Debbie Downer" - complaining the whole time about my miseries. Good thing I have such a brave niece to live my life vicariously through!!
I better get some work done since I'm emailing you during school hours! Glad to hear you are taking full advantage of all the opportunities and adventures in Kenya! We miss you so much.
Love and kisses,
Aunt Nancy

Breanne,
Wow! Sounds like an exciting weekend! How impressive to accomplish such an outstanding climb! You definitely have lots of determination and stamina. Did you get a picture of the sunrise at the summit? I'm sure it was an awesome sight! Glad you made it back down safe.
Spring is really struggling to make an appearance here. High today will be 47 and there's still talk about snow or rain later in the week. We are really going to appreciate warm if it ever arrives.
Looking forward to your return.

Awesome climb Breanne! That's a great feat. Ive never climbed that high of an altitude before. Ive climbed above 14,000 a couple times and I know it gets very difficult the higher you go. You shattered my best mark. So what's next for you? maybe Delion or Batian. Those look like much more technical summits of Mt Kenya. You might want skip those. Anyway that a great accomplishment. Glad all made it back safe. Enjoy the warm weather of the lowlands!

Dear Breanne, What an awesome climb and then to be at the top to see the sunrise. I'm sure that is indescribable. Were there more in your tour group besides the three of you and the guide? Now back to work in those horrid medical conditions. I'm sure it is very frustrating when the medical supplies and procedures are not what you are used to. It must be hard to work under those conditions. We went to the twins confirmation Sun. My, our Grandkids are growing up so fast. It was a nice service and we had a great dinner at Dave and Nancy's new home. Glad to hear you had a wonderful weekend.
Much love and prayers, Grandpa and Grandmother
