Visited Mumbai yesterday - had to be seen to be believed, streets jam packed with people and vehicles, road safety non-existent. There were women and babies sat in groups smiling and waving at us amidst all the chaos of the streets, the ramshackle houses and pile upon pile of discarded rubbish and debris. There were even cows and other animals wandering about the road. It was funny but sad at the same time.
Our tour called at a large hotel where we took refeshments and watched a performance of traditional song and dance. We thought of Carl imitating the various sounds. As the performance was drawing to a close one of the dancers took my hand and I soon found myself amongst them as the dancing continued. A hat was placed on my head andI was given scarves to wave around. Sheila was helpless and had trouble taking a photograph. My arm was held aloft as the best of those yanked onto the floor.
Sorry you are all freezing at home but we are still basking in sunshine with temperatures of 90 degrees. It will be quite shock to the system when we get home in a couple of weeks.
We are sailing the Arabian sea for the next five days and have been put on security alert as we are in pirate territory, although the Captain says there have been no instances of a pirate boat being able to catch a cruise ship. I said a couple of baseball bats per cabin may come in handy.
Next stop Egypt. Hope this finds you all well.
