Hi, glad you are all enjoying the blog, it's nice to rec eive your comments. Tuesday saw us in Sharm-el Sheikh. It was a lovely day and we took a taxi with some friends to Naama Bay, about four miles from the ship. It was a superb private beach with sun-beds and palm trees for shelter from the hot sun. Sorry to keep mentioning this but we will soon be joining you in the cold.
Yestereday we should have been visiting the pyramids on an excursion, whilst the ship transited the Suez Canal, which we were looking foward to as a highlight of the cruise. Unfortunately the ship's anchor got entangled in some cable which delayed our departure from Sharm-el Sheikh and this affected our turn to exit the Suez Canal and therefore threw the whole itineryout of schedule. We enjoyed the day passing through the Suez Canal as there was a great buzz on the ship and the Canal was well worth seeing.
Now looking foward to Athens and hoping the weather holds while we take in the sights. We have booked a tour to the Acropolis and the Plaka.

pete edwards Glad you are still making the most of the trip. Perhaps it was a better trip through the Suez Canal, you can always see the Pyramids later, much easier than going through the canal. At least you are being shielded from the Christmas Panic - I'm fed up of it already -and I haven't been shopping. Not long now before you are back in Blighty and looking forward to "normality". Good luck. Pete.
