Day two- I'm chillin' in the americInn hotel in wadena. We rode about 60 miles today...a good thing because my behind and legs started the day kinda tired. Tomorrow is 81 miles!!!
We passed otter tail lake today- lots of lovely summer homes and recreation. We also went by lots of farms - plenty of soy, corn, and wheat. We also saw some other cover crops, maybe some kind of beans? Near wadena was a chicken farm- and plenty of what I think were either fertilizer, herbicide, or pesticide tank-trucks zooming out to the farms.
I spent my first hour here at the historical society. I like their exhibits- but hoped for more personal stories to go along with the artifacts. Across from there is a natural grocer/cheese shop/and DMV place (all in one space). There was a 2-stand farmers market in the parking lot. Along this street is the elks club, pizza hut, burger king, and the national guard armory.
All in all- it was hard to get a sense of Minnesota today. I think it's a complex place!
