Whew! Minnesota has some blustery weather, cows that try to herd with passing packs of bicyclists, and just lovely farms, woods, and creeks. Our group started out in VERY strong winds. I was riding between packs at first- but quickly joined a group for drafting. Oh my! It made a huge difference. A great side effect was that I got to be pretty social today :). I started with one group, but at a rest stop made a split second decision to catch a slightly faster group. I'm glad I did - I think it saved me about an hour in the saddle- and my behind sure got sore anyway!!!
80 mile day. Tomorrow is in the 50s, but the day after is a century.
I'm riding ok for not training. I'm going to really take it easy tomorrow. A kind of "rest" day.
I hope our route goes by the charles lindburgh park .... Our hotel clerk says it is lovely- and we can sneak in with our bikes even though the state is "closed" for budget problems.
