Tuesday 29th March.
Hi all. we arrived yesterday after a short slightly delayed flight from Sydney. Picked up our silver convertible Mustang from the airport and drove to our accommodation in Honolulu. We are staying at the Ikikai which is a really cool retro looking high rise built in the early 60s. It is right at the beginning of honolulu/waikiki. Our room overlooks the ocean and the lagoon out front of the Hilton hotel. After checking in and a small nap, we walked to thenbjg shopping centre Ala Moana. Its huge and similar to Pacific Fair on the Gold Coast in that it is mainly outside. Lots of people, lots of shops and lots of bargains. In the afternoon we walked to Waikiki. Its a bit like the Gold Coast only more attractive and not trashy and not so many Japanese. No luck with my Ipad 2,
all out of stock and you need .to queue up at 6am to get one. Will probably just get the old one. All the well known shops in Waikiki will need to go back later. We had dinner with Sheldon and the boys at The Cheesecake Shop! Not the same as on the TV. Huge menu and meals were also huge. Gary and I got lost trying to find a supermarket and ended up at a japanese one. Apparently the dont use bread, butter or milk!!
Having trouble with uploading photos will try again later. Love to all. The Hales
