A perfect day for driving down country roads, looking at all the wild flowers that have popped up here in spring. The sky was blue, the sun was warm and the atmosphere was relaxed. Occasionally the air hung heavy with perfume, which just added to a feeling of time suspended.
Texas Longhorn cattle were grazing contentedly in the wildflowers and we petted a friendly Clydesdale AKA a Belgian Work Horse. A cheeky little donkey butted in too, I was waiting to hear Eddie Murphy's voice saying something outrageous.
I trust that the photos speak loud of a fabulous day spent in good company wandering over hill and dale and coming upon a host of.......Bluebonnets and Indian Paintbrush!
After our sojourn we stopped back in Ennis for lunch at The Fire House Grill. It was situated in and old fire station and memorabilia adorned the walls. We ate well and soaked up the atmosphere.
Returning home we headed back on interstate 35 North and the reality of spaghetti junction overpasses, soon there won't be any America left to see, it will all be roads, I'm sure.
