Today we said goodbye to paris. We all agreed it was fantastic and way better than our expectations. We thought it would be stressful but girls so curious and excited, and there was so much to see, it was a hit and we loved our place in saint Germaine. Girls squeezed in one room taking turns with one on the floor mattress, 2 in double and Lana in cot.
Trip to Loire was smooth. Now the place... First impressions - incredible, eerie, bizaar and very authentic. It's 2000 years old !!! with many roaming animals - turtles, pigeons being bred, geese, chooks. Girls loved it immediately of course, we weren't so sure. We were somewhat welcomed by the b&b's friend, Phillip, who was a bit odd. he showed us the two rooms... very much the period of many centuries ago , dark, richly decorated and ghostly as so shut up. And our rooms were separate from the girls by a separate staircase. Eek what would Frankie do in the night - stumble down and up the stairs!? Then there were the pigeons that craig n girls discovered up the next room, and the framed teeth. All a bit odd. But after opening our window shutters for light and then realizing we had a shared door, we became more positive Phew!
We wandered around , checked out the booby traps for lana- wells , tunnels, even a pool ! Its seriously amazing!! Snd its 200 m from yhe real azay ke rideau chateau. For dinner we grabbed pizza, salad for gab which she thought was 'awesome' from the little village. A French couple saw them playing and remarked c'est magnifique about 4 times !! They were being gorgeous... All joking with alannah. Now back at the crazy castle drinking tea on the terrace. Lana now knows French.. Bisou... She puckers up a kiss, ca va, la main/ donne la main, bonjour, au revoir... Girls think it's so funny. She can now say thank you properly.
