2/17/11 - I really couldn't ask for a better birthday. We shipped out from the hotel early in the morning (10am ish) and luckily made it with everything we needed. In a very near scare, I misplaced my wallet for a solid hour and a half. I thought that I had left it in the rental car in which I dropped off the night before and that could have led to a terrible time since my credit cards were in there. Michelle then lifted my big carry-on bag where the wallet was nestled between the bag and the bed sheets. However, Kris was not as fortunate as he lost his wedding ring. Our best guess is that he took it off before heading into the shower and it either found its way down the drain or hopefully someone accidently grabbed it and put it in their bag (insert: Kris later found his ring when it fell out of his shorts while running on the jogging track atop the ship…crazy).
We got onto the boat at about 12:30pm. Michelle and I stayed behind the group in order to deliver bottles of wine to Rob and Kelsey who were arriving on a different shuttle from a different hotel. Rob and Kelsey went through the normal line where Michelle and I went through the VIP line which was an added perk for upgrading to a suite on the boat.Of course, it didn't matter as we all wound up on the boat at the same time. I found that to be quite funny.
Once on the boat, we all made our way to the Lido Deck where the Funship drinks were being poured. I carried on both of my bags but others had to wait until 1:30pm until the checked bags would be available and we could get into our rooms. There was nothing else to do but start getting silly on the boat punch.
The rooms were pimpin'. There was a large gift package on the dresser in which was titled Happy Birthday from Mom and Dad. A bottle of champagne, a towel, some bar credits and a hat/shirt combo were some of the awesome items in the package. Thanks Mom and Dad! We pushed off from shore and were on our way out to sea. We got changed and went immediately to the Lido Deck to meet up with Erik and Sarah. Erik and I ran up the two flights of stairs to take our turn at the Slip n Slide atop the boat. Felt like overexcited toddlers as we giggled all the way to the top (could've been the booze which made us giddy but my bet is the awesome gigantic water slide). We then made out way to the jacuzzi tub and sipped drinks until dinner. Dinner was very lackluster but provided us a great opportunity to chat and cheers to good times (and also share a birthday cake for myself and Kris). We called it an early night to prep for the Bahamas!
