After a short flight we left the none stop activity and noise of hong kong for Hanoi, capital of Vietnam - looking forward to a more relaxed and quieter time - how wrong we were! The city is packed full of knakered old motorbikes with drivers who loved nothing more then to constantly beep their horns - we quickly got out of the city for a unesco world heritage site called halong bay, staying on a boat for a couple of nights to see the place properly - the place was beautiful with thousands of white limestone crags popping out the blue sea everywhere you looked - almost like icebergs I suppose. It was great although the cover picture doesn't do the place justice. From here we had to travel back to our favourite city of Hanoi to travel south....
