Friday 29 June (Kerrera to Tobermory)
Booked ourselves into Oban Marina for the return stays, and set off for Tobermory, up the Sound of Mull, in dry weather with 20k of wind. At exactly1346, in position N56º27'.14 W005º40'.06, Vega passed the 1000nM point on our Circumnav, and I texted the whole world with the news. As we passed Loch Aline we were greeted by Sandra Millar(friend of friend of Hugh), who hoisted a saltire on the hillside above the harbour. We circled round, this time under full sail, with our Scottish battle-flags flying from the starboard shroud, and gave her a loud blast on the foghorn: hopefully she got some good photos: thanks Sandra! We continued our sail up the Sound, and just beat the racing fleet (including our friends on Tigh Soluis) doing the Round Mull Race to the few pontoon berths in Tobermory. That evening we explored the one street in Tobermory, had drinks at the infamous Mishnish Hotel, and an excellent meal at the Anchorage.
