So here we are in Berlin.. it really is a fascinating city. It's ironic that this city has so much history, and yet is only about 20 years old. I enjoyed a free walking your yesterday, saw a lot of the important sites and learned a good amount of history along the way. I have to say, Berlin does a fantastic job when it comes to artistic, moving memorials. Some really eerie places to see around the city, in efforts to dissuade the creation of a Neo-Nazi Mecca, the bunker in which Hitler resided at the end of his life was filled in partially with concrete, then flooded. What you see now, a parking lot.
Got to a few museums today, including a fantastic museum dedicated to my favorite artist, Käthe Kollwitz. It was a powerful museum, and being able to see her works in person was incredible. I also got to the Topography of Terror, an exhibition commemorating the devastation caused by the Nazi party. Looking forward to going on an 'Alternative Tour' tomorrow, highlighting Berlin's famous street art scene. Should be cool!

Steven Mullin Hi! :D Just updated my own blog and checked the front page. Your post was right in front of mine. Glad you're enjoying Berlin. I've been loving it, but we're leaving for the west tomorrow. Couldn't leave your blog without recommending the Fat Tire Bike Tour from the TV tower though. Its an awesome way to see the sites. And you get to ride a bike :p Gonna check your Prague update, that's one of our stops :)
