Yesterday we stayed in Brussels. We went to the Royal Palace and then to the Atomium and Mini Europe. The kids were well rested and this made for a good day. The Atomium is a giant replica of an atom. You can walk around inside and take a combination of stairs and escalators to the top and have a seven story view. Then you take an elevator to the top at break neck speeds. This elevator was the fasted elevator in Europe but that was back when it was built for a world expo- back in the 1950's. I'm sure it was amazing at the time but not exactly an amusement ride now a days. It was a cool looking structure though. Then we went to Mini Europe. They have made replicas of all the famouse buildings in Europe at a scale of 1:25. It was neat to see Big Ben scaled next to the Eiffel Tower. There were little interactive buttons you could push to make the draw bridges go down, the volcano erupt etc... Once again. I can't stress how great it was that the kids had tons of energy and were in great and somewhat goofy moods. They loved it. The weather was really amazing. We got back and then headed back for a late dinner.
We are off to Cologne today and then to London tomorrow. We are all having a great time! Weather today is also supposed to be great. (75-80degrees and no wind. Cloudless sky)
