We like Quantas airways (you get a menu and everything!). Security was fine, 1 had had my routine pat down and bomb check (I must look shifty)
We met a couple (a Swedish girl and an English bloke) during our transfer to The Paragon Inn -a clean, comfy but boring hotel in a boring location.
We all went into the city first thing the next day and trudged up and down the length of Khao San Road until we found a bed for the night. It was ridiculously humid and with all of our stuff, exhausting.
We ended up in windowless yet fairly clean rooms with no idea what time of day it is.
Khao San is one never-ending flea market. I'm already sick of being asked if i want a suit by the same man everytime i leave the hotel, but Ani loves it. Bangkok is stupidly hot and humid, yet you can never see the sun for the pollution.
First things first Rich introduced us to Thai Red Curry today - yum yum! This with cold beer is amazing.
Next we all went for a massage, which wasn't that relaxing after my masseuse insisted that I remove by board shorts. (My sole garment at the time) This left me naked but for a towel (An absurdly small towel) which the Thai lady kept wafting to re-arrange, repeatedly exposing me.
Adding to the experience, I was in a room with 6 other people and their masseuses. I later found out that Ani had had a private air-conditioned room and was left in the comfort of her bikini.
