The time came to leave manic Khaosan and part with Rich and Tan. We mourned at the Paragon over films and a lot of chocolate, which did help...
Next stop, Vietnam!!!
From air the streets of Ho Chi Minh City look like they're crowded with armies of ants. - Saigon is accurately known as 'motorbike city.' They are everywhere. We've seen families of 5 squished onto one moped on the way to work/school. At night we spotted a toddler on the front sleeping with a pillow in between the handlebars. In a traffic jam!
Travelling from the taxi to our hotel was an experience in itself. Nobody stops in Vietnam, they just swerve. At no point did i manage to keep breathing whilst crossing a street in Nam. In reality the Vietnamese will not hit you so long as you keep a steady pace, but it's still bloody scary.
By the way, we're millionnaires. I wish i'd photo'ed my bank balance on arrival - it was a beautiful thing. Ben withdrew 200,000 Dong only to find out in the taxi that it was about 6 quid.
Spent the night at Bich Duyen. It's located in a dark alleyway, which was disconserting, especially at directions were given to us by a random man off the street asking us where we were going. However it turned out to be a family alleyway, and after meeting 3 students from Melbourne we ended up going to dinner with their family.
