Our Journey...
Just our luck we almost missed the plane. Lets just not talk about the flights. (Long) On arrival at LA Airport Ben decided to ignore all good advice given to him and took a small packpage given to him by a stranger... it turned out to be full of drugs. Fortunately it was a police officer testing a sniffer dog. The pup failed his test. We were told he needed more training.
Arrived at Nadi at stupid o'clock (5am ish) to see the most stunning country in the world!! caught a taxi to a hotel (verrry grumpy driver) to find the resort pretty, but deserted. I went up to check in but got chased away by 6 crazy barking dogs... not a good start but once it opened up we fell in love with the place!
Stoney Creek...
Stoney Creek was full of frogs and ghekos, and absolutely stunning scenery. Food was pretty decent (especially marlin fish!). Room? nice, but unfortunately it lacked a bathroom door. This isn't a maintainence thing, by the way, maybe Fijians (?) are a bit open and friendly?
The bananas are incredible.
Ani was really ill for a couple of days, getting mosquito repellant in her eye did not help, but is feeling much better now (the staff looked after her well), just hungry and still can't sleep! Ben sleeps well.... every time we leave the pool and balcony to go to the cool we fall asleep!
Met two nice couples at dinner - Mel & Drew, and an Aussie couple
