Breakfast was abysmal. It consisted of watermelon (which featured at every meal at Kuata) and garishly dyed bread-cake, which came in both neon yellow and bright pink.
We didn't get to do anything in Kuata. We wanted to see the remains of the Castaway set, and do shark snorkelling, but the last time Ani snorkelled her lip started bleeding. We just chilled on the beach all day.
Lunch was alright - pasta and, can you guess - was it a) a hogroast b) human sacrifice or c) watermelon? Comment in with your answers. The first winner will be given a personalised christmas card on this site. Yes, we're that cheap.
Ani's lip has swollen to the point where she is incapable of eating, drinking (except through a very small straw) or even remaining still without pain. She can barely talk. We have decided that the best course of action is to return to the mainland, and try to get medical attention. That probably means flying out to Australia early, as Fijian hospitals are renowned for being dirty.
The sea was much calmer on the trip back to the mainland. I cut up Crunchie bars into baby pieces so Ani could eat. (Yum Yum.) We headed to Smugglers Cove, as the Nadi Bay Resort had made us want to cry.
The room's alright - we have a en-suite bathroom. After we'd flushed the baby cockroaches down the loo, & Ben had thrown the larger ones into the hall, all was well.
I racked up a 107 pound phone bill calling Flight Centre to change our flights, which took an age, only to find that I had to ring the Putney branch. I hate you so much Flight Centre. We then had to get hold of Carolyn who was very helpful, but told us we should never have gone to Fiji in the first place.
Anyway, it has cost us 130 pounds each, but we leave tomorrow on the first flight to Sydney. Ani looks rough though, so I am worried. I've just sorted out an airport transfer, came back to find Ani on a baby cockroach killing spree. She is very grumpy, as she hasn't seen half of what she wanted to see and do in Fiji.
We can't see any bedbugs. The sheets aren't moving at any rate.
