Breakfast at Beachcomber was amazing. We met the Welsh boys again, and it was buffet style. Ben ate. And ate. And ate some more.
We left early and decided to go to the top of the Yasawa chain - Nacula. After a 4 hour journey we arrived at Safe Landing. (Price was included in our bula pass)
As we boarded the boat to the "resort" I noticed a boat load of people going to the other 2 accommodation options. We were the only 2 people on our boat. Hmm.
And yes, Safe Landing turned out to be a dive. Another one.
Nacula has the most stunning pristine beach, but everything in our room was filthy. A quick overview: the glass in the front door is cracked, the locks barely work (next door doesn't have a lock), there are ants everywhere, there is a dead cockroach trapped in the shutters, and the bathroom is dire. The staff are grumpy as hell - as soon as we arrived the owner lectured us for using the Bula Pass. Oh dear.
The Bula Pass people - Awesome Adventures refused to transfer us, so we grumpily lived on crisps. Electricity is from 6-9pm, giving us a 9pm curfew and no room fan. We woke up to find the single bed (where we put all our stuff) was crawling with ants.
On the upside, outside the resort this island is paradise. Our hut is right on the beach. The water is perfectly clear and turquoise. We look an amazing walk around our half of the island, which is half white super-soft sand and half volcanic rock. Wow.
The worst thing about here is that Ani's lip has got worse and we can't wash it - the water is white. Next time we'll have to upgrade a bit.
Ani's Travel Tip Part 1 Section 4 Paragraph 1: If you're the only 2 people in the water taxi to a resort, and the others are full, worry. You've made a mistake.
