We finally found our Johnson's Baby Mosquito Repellant!! (Deet free - We hate deet)
Early morning we went for a hilltop hike - halfway to the hillfort built by the Americans in WW1. It was pretty tiring! The views were worth it, plus i saw quite a few tiny snakes en route.
In the pool that morning (a really nice pool - it has seats in it) we met the other 3 guests - Kim, and an American couple. Fulfilling the parental role today (this seems to be a running theme so far - somebody's gotta do it) was the couple, who gave us a lot of travel and heat advice. (They've been living in Tonga)
Joe took us and Kim over to Musket cove - bought sarongs (mine has ghekkos on it!) and chocolate. (Week 1 and I'm already missing it) Joe is one speeeedy driver! Really, I thought I might fall off.
This afternoon we all did the Kava Ceremony. Ben was an appalling Chief's Spokesman, and kept forgetting the word "Taky" to start the next round of drinking. Kava is nice, but tastes like mud. In a good way. It was really great cultural experience - the boys told us a lot about kava, we learnt a lot as there aren't many of us at the resort right now. We had about 3 bowls of kava between 5 of us... that's a lot of kava. After I was soooo sleepy and chilled.
I was ill, apparently kava is bad on an empty stomach. Joe made me eat a Po-Po (papaya) to make me feel better - it worked, magic! We've been getting on really well with Joe, he's really sweet.
By the way, all the fruit on this resort is gorgeous. Mango trees are growing everywhere. The whole resort is really nice. The food is pretty good - I've fallen in love with guava juice. Room wise, the dorm has 1 person in it, so shared facilities is giving us a shower each. Bargain.
