You never really know "what your gunna get" from a night bus in South East Asia so when we boarded ours to Bangkok we were very happy. Air con, (actual air con not just an open window) a comfy reclining seat, TV with English DVD's and so under crowded we could have 2 seats each when we wanted some sleep. After watching 'Blood Diamond' and 'Kill Bill Vol. 1' it was time for some sleep.
We were supposed to be dropped off at Kho San Road in Bangkok at about 7am. It was 5am when the lights came on and we were woken up by someone shouting "Kho San Road, please get off." Blurry eyed and still half asleep we made our way off the bus to find our bags already unloaded. The bus then departed, it was then after getting our bearings that we realised this was not Kho San Road. It was shortly after this observation that we realised our bags didn't look as neat a tight (with all straps done up) as they were when we got on the bus, we checked them out. Our suspicions were confirmed we had been robbed, bummer (or a word to that effect). We had over £100 stolen in 4 different currencies; Thai, English, US and Oz. We are sad to say that the money that we very generously given to us before we left, was now gone. Thank you again, however it is some horrible Thai man who will be enjoying your generosity and unfortunately not us, sorry.
We had planned to travel somewhere else, west if Bangkok for a couple of days before our friend Dave arrived, however neither of us were in the mood to get on another bus so we had breakfast and checked into a hotel. We would have a couple more days in Bangkok instead.
