Magnetic Island

We woke up early (again!) at Mission Beach to catch the Greyhound Bus down to Townsville to catch the ferry over to Magnetic Island. On the bus on the way down we stopped at Cardwell on the way where I recognised a girl (Kerry and her mate Cherryl.) I met her whilst we both were throwing up on the boat on the way to the Great Barrier Reef in Cairns! As it turns out they were travelling to Magnetic Island and staying at the same hostel as we were!

Once we got to Townsville we caught the ferry to Magnetic Island which took about 20 mins. We stayed at Base Backpackers at Nelly Bay. It was great because as we arrived there it was just in time for a $8 all you can eat BBQ! Wahoo! We stayed in little wooden huts with the view of the bay, it was beautiful.

Mark and I hired out scooters and went out exploring around the island, we was wicked, we saw all the bays and even fed wild wallabies! They're so cute!

The next day we (Me, Mark, Kerry and Cherryl) hired out a 'Moke' a little topless buggy car thing with pink fluffy seats. Mark looked great in it (check out the pics when I can upload them!) We sun bathed at Horseshoe Bay and went to the Koala Sancuary where we got to hold a koala, python, a mini croc, a lizard thing called a 'blue tongue' and an evil Kockateel (if thats how you spell it?!) Koala smelt of molding Eucapliptus and wee!

We left the next day and headed to Airlie Beach, yep Kerry and Cherryl were doing the same too!
