The Cameron Highlands is so pretty!! And so much cooler temperature wise.. although we did nearly freeze to death both nights due to it dropping to like 12 degrees! Not the 30 degree weather we've been used to! But it was a nice change :) famous for its tea plantations, strawberry fields, and VERY famous for its tea & scones, i couldn't wait to check it out!
Arrived late afternoon so the group headed out into the local area, where there was loads of shops and stalls (bought the nan's a fridge magnet with strawberries on! they'll love it! haha) had dinner out with them then just headed back to the hotel as we were all absolutely knackered, ended up in the hotel common room watching the discovery channel - a program about jellyfish! (only english channel they had....) we were all actually surprisingly into it haha!
Our second day me & charlotte decided to enjoy a well deserved lie in and then headed out for some tea & scones, we weren't dissapointed :) so lovely!! We took a small tour in the afternoon which took us to loads of lovely places around the highlands. First we stopped at a rose garden (only saw 1 rose...) but they did have some lovely flowers so i used the flower setting on my camera a little too much!! Then we went to a strawberry farm, dissapointingly couldnt pick any as they weren't in season so i just settled for a homemade strawberyy milkshake instead :) we then headed to the tea plantations way up in the hills, which were amazing! Looked inside the tea factory and saw how tea is actually made! Did you know that teabags we get back home isnt proper tea inside.. just the bits left over after the tea leaves have gone! (Little fact there for you!) so i had to buy some PROPER highland teabags (mum & dad they're in my bag!). We then drove to the local butterfly farm, lots of lovely butterflies and flowers. but you couldnt get anywhere near them as the bloody chinese people ALL had amazingly amazing cameras with massive tripods taking 1000 pictures of the same butterfly.. each to their own i guess, but me & charlotte settled for the one picture only haha!
I quickly went on the hotels computer ready to download all my pictures, and me being me i managed to delete ALL of my Bangkok, Krabi & Penang pictures.. to say i was gutted was an understatement!! I literally wanted to cry lol but luckily some AMAZING man in Kuala Lumpur got almost all of them back for me (well 314 so i can't complain) so we left the highlands ready for some city life in Kuala Lumpur!!!
Love Bex :) xxxx
