Day at sea.
Well, last night was pretty eventful for little little. She got to meet Whin, the barman in the Crooners bar where we spend a lot of our time as barflys. He had heard about her and kept on about us bringing her down to meet him....so last night she donned her best shirt and jeans along with her light up Sketcher shoes and she went down and sat at the bar. Whin thought she was cute (obviously) and even produced a staff badge for her to wear. No one other than staff have these badges and she is wearing it with pride. Another couple at the bar also loved her and her sketcher shoes and wanted to know what her facebook page was. The price of fame eh?
So on to today.... it is another sea day and of course the weather is gorgeous and in the late 80 degrees. We went another hour forward today so getting closer to UK time again...only 5 hours behind you guys now. Because of this hour forward we missed the morning quiz and it took us around half the day to realise we had forgotten about the clock change. We kept wondering why events we turned up for had finished..... doh!
We made it to the pool and decided on a whim to take part in the poolside trivia quiz. Just the two of us and it was a silent quiz, meaning it was a written question paper. We had just 5 minutes to complete it and hand it back in. Annnnnnnnnnnnnd....we won! well Dave won really...i got just one question right and that was about the famous French musem which was once a palace....(the louvre) But anyway we did win and we got a fabulous prize of two giant paper clip things. Excellent!
I then had a go at the pool games....that was quite eventful. There were two teams of four and the first game involved threading a spoon and string in and our of your team's swim suits...then going back the other way and unthreading it. Our team, the dolphins, ended up in a giant knot....it wasn't pretty lol. It was also unfair because I wear a one piece swim suit and was at a serious disadvantage to all the blokes who just wear shorts! The next game involved passing an orange from team member to team member without it touching your hands. You had to put it under your chin and pass it to the next person...then come back again and the first team to do that won. We won that first time round but the other team, the sharks, yelled some rubbish about us cheating and using our hands. They made us do that game again and the sharks won the second round. Booooooooooooo.
The host guy then started explaining the third game......as soon as i heard the word "balloon" i backed away and tried to make my excuses. I stammered something about not wanting to touch the balloons...or see them...or be near them.
It was quite hard for this host guy to fathom because he kept saying its ok you just have to blow it up, stick it down the wet teeshirt you are going to be wearing and then swim back with it up the shirt. O-o er....no! no no no no no no no. Not happening. He must have finally realised that I was serious and he said that our team could have a blower upper for me. So i would need to put on the wet shirt...swim to the other end of the pool...my team mate would then blow up the balloon and HE would walk back down the side of the pool with it as i swam back. To slow me down...I had to take off the wet t shirt and put it back on at the firsr end.
The balloons needed to be burst once each team member finished their two lengths too. It was almost too much for me to bear, but i stayed put and didnt run for the hills. My team were great too....especially once they saw me swim and realised I was probably our strongest swimmer lol. In the end we won the balloon race game and so we won the whole thing. YAAAAAAAAAAY. Not bad considering you had me, with a balloon phobia and Dee, who couldnt swim a stroke and we had to drag her along the pool lolol.
Was really fun anyway and I won quite a nice water bottle for my efforts. Looking forward to the Panama Canal tomorrow. We start our entrance to the canal at about 5:30 am our time...which would be about mid morning in the UK. It will take us all day to go through....you might catch sight of us on the panama canal webcams as we work our way along the canal.

Barbara and Gary This cruise sounds very energetic, especially for passengers with an average age of 130. I think you may have to put an armed guard on Littlr Little as she may be kidnapped and a ransom demanded.
Barbara and Gary P.S. I couldn't work out which vidcam to pick up when you entered the Canal. I've found one now which says Atlantic Locks so if you can tell me what time you expect to go through those, .i may be able to see you (or more correctly your ship).
