As Wease and Scott and Megan and Kyle left this morning for the airport to fly home, we knew our midpoint vacation had come to an end. The last ten days traveling with them, and seeing Gregg, Christina, Jim and Pam was the apex of our summer sojourn. With family living on the west coast, it required a cross country road trip to see them, but it was worth it, and we were so glad that the Rexfords flew out to be part of it. The last five days staying in the house in Sunriver (special shout out to Julia Samnotra's dad for making his house available to us...great, well equipped cabin in the Oregon woods for a relaxing retreat) allowed us to make repairs to the trailer and get it cleaned and ready for the road back home. We still have a lot of exciting stops on the journey back east, including Yellowstone, Mt. Rushmore, Niagara Falls as well as visits with family and friends along the way, but we leave with a little sadness in our hearts as CJ and Anna will miss their time with Kyle and Megan. Whoooaa Barry! (I don't really know what that means, but the kids laugh everytime they say it, so I thought I should throw it in.) Good times, Good times. Time to hitch up the trailer, load the fridge with some fresh Oregon brews, check the tires and propane and get back on the road.

Tia Trish Good words: apex and sojourn. Who broke the trailer? If you have time consider going to Crazy Horse, near Rushmore. The carving of this Indian chief on his horse is bigger than Rushmore but under construction. Still very impressive. All hail to the King of the Road!
