July 12, 2011
The 12 of July began with a really nice breakfast at the porch, next to the pool and with a view of the ocean. Later on, Evelyn and Alan took us around in the area to see the different beaches in the area. We saw surfing surfers - at one beach there were almost 70 surfers out there. On another beach we saw whale splashing! We think they were waving at us. This very exciting day ended with a walk out to Richmond River where Evelyn showed us playing dolphins with little dolphin babies on their sides.

On the 13 of July we went to Shelly beach, where we collected shells - lots of beautiful shells! Rebekka found a Pippi shell the day before, which was purple and quite beautiful. She felt really lucky. Then at Shelly Beach she found another one and picked it up. And another one. And suddenly she was standing in the middle of a 30 centimeter deep Pippi Shell ground. Then she took the two most beautiful ones and threw the rest away… And found some other shells, even more beautiful and still felt very lucky. Afterwards we went to a koala sanctuary. There we met two ladies, who were just on their way to a koala rescue! But we saw a few koalas and Rebekka actually spottet one in the wild.
Then we went to Nimbin, which is the Australian pendant to Christania, where we walked around and had lunch. It was a very colorful city with colorful people.
On our way to Victoria Park, a little rainforest, we drove through Alstonville, a cute little village. At Victoria Park we saw little kangaroos. Really, really cute ones. Up in the trees catbirds were miawing down to us. They sounded a bit scary, but Evelyn said we would be all right, and so we were.
At the end of this day we went back to Richmond River were we observed the most gorgeous sunset.
