We needed to check out of the hostel before 9 am so we had an early start and tried not to wake up our roommate on our way out. We went downhill to the station and used the last of our vouchers to by a bus ticket to go to Avalon. The bus L90 could take us there every half an hour but before we went we need a cup of good coffee and place to eat our yogurt.
The bus driving was bomby but very beautiful. Avalon is really something with the green hills and peaceful beaches. At the bus stop not only Robyn but also her brother Neil met us.At Robins we had a lovely lunch and then we went for a walk to the light house by the smuggler track. One the way up there we walked on the beach, or rather we jumped for the waves which almost reached us, sometimes did, but we really tried not to get wet. In which we almost succeeded. When we reached the top, we were almost blown away by the stunning view.

Early start - again. Robyn very kindly drove us to Hornsby so we could catch the train at 7.51 am from Hornsby. That saved us two hours drive to Sydney at an earlier hour. We arrived early at the station in Hornsby so we checked in our luggage and went for the nearest coffee shop. Australian accent is funny but in Hornsby it is hardly understandable. The clack who took care of our luggage said a lot but all we understood was 'pay phones'. We decided to wait for the train by the pay phones at the platform and it turned out we had guessed right - what he said was: 'You are in car E so you will have to board the train at the platform by the pay phones' - which came out sounding like, to us anyway, like 'boar boarh boarh pay phones boarh'. And so we did.
Eleven hours later we arrived in Grafton from where we took a coach to Ballina. It was a beautiful ride in the twilight and at some point we all fell asleep.
Three hours later we arrived at Ballina where Evelyn picked us up. At their beautiful home Alan and a hot pumpkin soup were waiting for us. Oh, what joy! Soon after we were all tucked in, in two nice, soft, and warm beds (Rebekka and Nina shared - couldn't imagine to sleep separately after all these nights together).
