The day began, just like the days before, nice and slow with Evelyn making us lovely, almost Danish, breakfast. She knows what a real Danish Viking needs in the morning!
Not long after Louise, Eve, and Daves children came. Soon after Evelyn and Louis mother Ruth joined us, and it turned out to be a lovely family gathering.
In the afternoon, Alan drove us to Byron Bay with a few stops on the way, to show us some more beaches and rainforest - he is a really good tour guide and knows all the good spots in the area!
Then we arrived at Main Beach Backpackers at Byron Bay, where we had a 6 person dorm with a new friend called Rita. When Rebekka later on went to the hostel kitchen, she met another new friend, Gordon.

On this rainy day we slept all morning. When we finally decided it was time to get up, Nina went for a run (and saw whales jumping out of the water), Marie-Louise for a swim, and Rebekka stayed with our new friend Rita and read in her Cosmo…
When we all gathered again we went shopping. Funny stuff you can buy in Byron Bay - very tourist-like but the best to the price so far in Australia.
In the evening we joined Gemma, family and friends for drinks and later some well-deserved dancing!

Sleep, a run, a walk, a swim, and coffee that a good start to a day in Byron Bay. Later shopping (again) and lunch at the famous taco place just off the main street. In all, the day was quiet and it felt great just to be on the beach watching the rainbow while the sun set behind the blue mountains on the horizon.
