So, I left off on the 27th.
Nothing overly exciting happened on the 28th, so I am skipping that and going to instead tell you about the really cool show we saw on the 29th. It was called Creditors by Strindberg and was playing at the Donmar Warehouse.
Strindberg is very naturalistic, and they did a fantastic job of that in this production. the set was in all white, which is usally a HUGE no-no in theatre (reflects too much lights), but they made it work with the lighting designer coming up with some astoundting "natural" sunglight that filtered in through windows from above. it was so cool! the actors were very well suited to the parts and i got really excited when i read that Alan Rickman had directed. I love Alan Rickman.
Thursday was also rather uneventful, but Friday we (both AHA programmes) took a day trip to visit Stonehenge and Bath. It was so cold! don't let the blue skies in the pictures fool you, it was close to freezing and the wind chill really didnt help. Stonehenge is really cool, but a lot smaller than one might think. it always looks so towering in the photos. Don't get me wrong, they weren't short by any means, and im sure it was a pain and a half to get them standing upright, but i just expected them to be even bigger. We spent about an hour at the henge and then ran back to the warm bus and continued on to Bath...which i am going to have to contuine later, as someone is waiting for the computer
