Well, 2 days in Alice Springs is probably more than enough. Didn't do quad biking just too expensive, didn;t hire a car because to be honest it's quite nice to have a break from travelling. So what have I done? Well washing mainly :) It was fate that made us break down on the way in i'm sure as we bumped in to the trainee tour guides on the 'rescue' vehicle when we were having a coffee in town yesterday and they told us about Empire of The Sun concert that night ... so myself and Cathleen got tickets and off we went. And it was bloody brilliant. 2 support bands, one called Unknown Artist who did lots of covers of most of my favourite songs. Had a really good evening. I think it was good to let our hair down for a night, been too many early mornings to do it up until now. Weather has been about 35-37 degrees, found the hostel pool and did a bit of sun bathing. In town there is a really cool pub called Annies that does a bit of nosh for $5 (3quid ish) so we have eaten there a couple of times. Tomorrow is another early start as we are back on the road at the start of the Alice Springs to Darwin leg. We are staying at a cattle ranch tomorrow night and visiting the Devils Marbles, which will be a bit of a highlight.
Off to try and pack bags now ... hmm is not getting any easier ... or lighter !!

Ann Hi Anne, I'm glad the weather's brightened up for you. It's bright over here at the moment - but pretty chilly - already had to scrape windscreens in the mornings! Oh ... I bet you're really sad to miss that delight!! I had thought that you'd let your hair down before leaving Africa - but it's good to know that you've probably made yourself know to a good few Alice Spring'ians! I'm not sure what you should be expecting at the Devils Marbles - sounds interesting though. Keep up the excellent blogs, they're great but, for some reason I can't view your "Africa" pictures, although it sounds as though others can! Stupid computers!!! Take care, Annx
